[Appearance]
The wine is pale lemon with niticeable high clarity thus I assumed that this wine has a high level of acidity. No bubbles seen in the glass. To me its viscosity seems slightly higher than that of a wine of the same color intensity.
[Aroma]
The intensity of aromas found is not very pronouncedly high. It is rather smooth and moderate. This wine is appearantly not made of an aromatic variety. The principle aromatic characters are refreshing freen fruits(apple, gooseberry) and also fresh herbs such as mint and thyme. There is a bit of mineral hint of chalk.
Although there is a moderate level of complexity, the overall impression is light and smooth. This is not a wine that makes me tire even after having some glasses of it.
[Palate]
This is dry. It has quantitatively medium+ acidity whose nature is slightly sharp. The high acidity stands out if compared to strengths of other flavour components found in this wine. I assume this is bit low in alcoholic content. Mineral note of grapefruit peel is more clearly felt than when I checked the aromatic characteristic. This is smooth and friendly wine that can be enjoyed young without waiting for further aging.
[After blind tasting]
Roero Arneis is usually made as single varietal white. The variety is, in clear contrast to my tasting note, known to generally have only limited amounts of acid.
